What is your best tip for someone just getting started on using Featured?

To help you get started on Featured, we asked business professionals and Featured users this question for their best tips. From being consistent to maximizing your profile, there are several tips that may help you get started on Featured.

Here are eight tips for someone just getting started on using Featured:

  • Be Consistent
  • Get Innovative
  • Show Your Expertise
  • Build It Into Your Day
  • Take a Copywriting Course
  • Start With a Heading
  • Get a Little Personal
  • Maximize Your Profile

Be Consistent

Decide on 1–2 questions a week that make sense for your specialty, and don’t overwhelm yourself by trying to answer too many questions. After deciding on the questions, compile concepts in a document to solidify your ideas. Invest time to write out, revise your message to put your “best grammatical foot forward.” I write, rewrite, and edit.

I post it on Featured and read through my answer one more time to fine-tune before clicking submit. I carve out time (sometimes as much as 45 minutes per question) and that investment has yielded over 30 articles published in under a year. I highly recommend investing the time in Featured, which can expose you to different audiences highlighting your expertise. It’s worth it. Simply start and be consistent.

Get Innovative

When you first begin replying to queries on Featured, keep in mind that your answer will be one of many. So, it’s not always best to respond with the first thing that comes to mind. Consider the topic carefully and then craft an error-free tip that is unique and maybe even a little out of the box. Featured is deeply rooted in innovation, so it only makes sense that your responses should be, too.

Show Your Expertise

Pick a topic that you have expert knowledge and authority. There are so many questions that get published weekly on Featured. Choose questions that best align with your personal and professional brand. When people look you up online, what would you want them to see your name associated with? The more relevant questions you answer, the more likely your chances of being selected for article publication. This Featured guide explains how to get free blog content just by providing expert answers to relevant questions.

Build It Into Your Day

Pace yourself. There are many viable queries in various niches. If you try to answer them all at once, you’ll burn out and lose interest. Answer a few queries each day. You have five days to answer that week’s queries. By pitching a few each day, you remain interested and motivated. Hearing you are selected is exciting. By pacing yourself, you remain regimented. For instance, at the start of the week, I go through the list and write down which questions I want to answer. Then, throughout the week, I answer a few queries at the beginning of my day, each day Monday through Friday.

Take a Copywriting Course

Make words your ally, and it will pay off when using Featured. Taking a small copywriting course can help to polish your writing style. It doesn’t even need to be a paid course. Even a free course on YouTube can teach you the fundamentals of writing within an hour or two. The combination of a two-hour copywriting course and using Featured regularly yields some of the best returns on marketing you can get, especially at a price of close to zero.

Start With a Heading

As answers on Featured are relatively short, it’s a good idea to think about the heading for your response first. This helps create a more concise, structured answer that focuses on the essential elements of your text. Such an approach helps to avoid writing too long responses that go off-topic. Also, a heading enables you to explain your ideas in a way that is easy to follow — looking at your heading while writing reminds you to stick to the main point and keep your audience engaged.

Get a Little Personal

When answering questions on Featured, refer back to your life and business experience. That’s what reporters are looking for. They want to see examples of why something may or may not work, and explaining your experience with the topic at hand helps your answer get published.

Maximize Your Profile

Set up every aspect of your profile so that you’re ready to answer questions at any time. You can add a profile photo, your email, website, name, and interests. Then, you won’t have to think twice about it in the future. A strong and completed profile is a great way to leverage your placement in potential articles.
