What Gets You Out of Bed in the Morning? 7 Answers

From dropping melatonin supplements to being a positive person for the world, here are seven answers to the question, “What gets you out of bed in the morning?”

  • Kicking Off My Melatonin Cycle
  • We Are Driven to Do Something that Drives Us to Help.
  • The Next Big Idea We’re Working On
  • Morning Walk With My Dog
  • The Prospect of Fulfillment
  • To Provide the Best Care Possible
  • What Gets Me Out of Bed.

Kicking Off My Melatonin Cycle

Knowing that I need to kick off my melatonin cycle so I can fall asleep at night is always a great motivator to get out of bed in the morning. If I don’t stand up and get exposed to sunlight as soon as I wake up, my melatonin cycle will be delayed and I will have trouble falling asleep at night.

I know, it sounds quite strict, but time has taught me it’s better than poor sleep.

Increasing a Sense of Purpose

For many of us, the answer is a sense of purpose and meaning. We are driven to do something that drives us, whether it’s helping others, creating something new, or taking on an exciting challenge.

This motivation can come from a variety of sources, like our friends and family members, who encourage us to keep going even when times get tough, or from inspiring messages that help us stay passionate about our work.

It can also come from within ourselves as we find strength in our own ambitions and goals. No matter the source, having a sense of purpose is essential for leading a fulfilling life.

Thinking of the Next Big Idea We’re Working On

The main attraction of being an entrepreneur is being able to bring my ideas to life — seeing them go from a doodle on a sheet of paper through the ideation process, the raising of funds, the hiring of employees, and actually getting it to where it is a real, functional business.

There is nothing quite like this feeling, which is why I could never go back to not owning my business. Knowing that each day I am contributing to this process makes getting out of bed exciting.

Walking With My Dog

I’m an early riser, and my prime motivator for getting out of bed in the morning is my dog. Whether it’s raining or sunny, windy or calm outside, the fresh morning air and the sounds of birds chirping motivate and energize me for the day ahead.

During our morning stroll, I like to think about my goals and remind myself of why they’re important. My morning ritual also gives me time to bond with my furry friend, who brings a sense of joy and happiness into my life. It’s a morning habit that keeps me motivated, happy, and focused.

Looking Forward to Fulfillment

I always say that life is great when you feel fulfilled. For me, it has always been important to find meaning and fulfillment within my day, whether it be at work or at home.

I strive to do work that brings me joy the majority of the time and remain grateful for all that I have in my home life. Sure, it isn’t always easy, but keeping these things at the top of my mind really helps — and certainly helps me get myself up and out of bed each morning!

Providing the Best Care Possible

During the week, it’s knowing that there is a patient who deserves the best care possible waiting for us. A human being, usually a trans woman or nonbinary femme, who is about to have facial gender-affirming surgery, has placed an enormous amount of expectation of soon being able to see the feminine face they feel they are looking back at them in the reflection.

A person who is a sibling, daughter, friend, partner, parent, or colleague, just like anyone else, but who has been driven to surgically change facial gender markers not only to align their identity with their physical characteristics, but also, unfortunately, to survive in this world which kills transgender people or drives them to the far outskirts of society.

Making a Positive Impact

As a representative of Schmidt & Clark, a prominent law firm, I can tell you that what gets me out of bed in the morning is the opportunity to make a positive impact in the world. At our firm, we are committed to providing legal representation to individuals and communities who have been harmed by corporate negligence and misconduct.

Every day, I wake up with a sense of purpose and a desire to fight for justice on behalf of our clients. Knowing that we can help individuals who have been wronged and make a meaningful difference in their lives is what drives me to get out of bed and come to work each day.

Furthermore, the legal profession is dynamic and challenging, with new cases and issues constantly arising. This constant intellectual stimulation keeps me engaged and motivated to stay at the forefront of my field.
